I want quite a diff but yet simple name that resembles either moon, ocean or galaxy and something that represents strength as well.     1. I am not much knowledgable on Limbu language. I recommend Mirak (ज्वाला), Mukkum (god of war) and Muksam (शक्ति). I could not get more because I am looking for Nepali-Limbu dictionary which I misplaced.

    1. Dear Sir, Tagera Ningwaphu Haang is a very nice name. Tagera Ningwaphu is the name of our supreme god/goddess who is the source of knowledge and power. Adding hang makes it masculine. It might be a big long for some people but you can always give short name or shorten it.

    1. as you know that i am just learning Limbu so it is hard for me to answer your question. In dictionary “subha” means “pano” or “suno” and “bibaha” means “mekkhim/metkhim” but “tendham me:tkhim” is commonly used.

    1. I’m sorry to say that there is no alphabet ‘b’ in Limbu, however, there is ‘wa’. There are very few words in ‘wa’ that could be used as name. If you need I can give. Or you can see Limbu-English-Nepali dictionary yourself. Actually, I have been doing that to make the name list 🙂

    1. Yumma Sammang is the name of the goddess. Yuma is the form of supreme goddess Tagera Ningwaphu Mang in a grandmother and Sammang means simply goddess. Many people give this name for their daughters.

      In Limbu, there is different category of god. Mang is the supreme god/goddess, sammang is a form of god/goddess or god/goddess specilized to fulfill different purpose or do good things for people. Sammang-chang is a form of god who is assign for different duties and if people do not worship them properly then they make them people suffers.

      1. Telephone is called “khi-ing” (khi=thread and ing=news), marriage is called “mekkhim” and way (or path) is called “lam”. I don’t know what “bad guys” is called I have to ask seniors. I will look for it and inform you.

          1. I suggest “Hukpa”. It is a special way of offering foods in special occasions. You can ask details to elders and even ask for proper pronunciation.
